I’m Afraid. Is there a Hell?
Dear Joshua:
I’m 87 years old, in failing health, and I’m concerned that I might end up in hell when I die. I’ve never been a big believer in God or Jesus Christ (neither me nor my agnostic friends), but now that I’m getting close to the end of my life, I’m feeling a little scared. What if there is a God? What if there is a heaven and a hell? I don’t want to end up on fire, in flames for all eternity should a place like hell actually exist. (My friends think I’m an idiot for worrying about this. They tell me the bible is a stupid book of fairy tales.) What should I do?
– Terrified Tony
Dear Tony:
I don’t blame you for being scared. Eternity is a long time. The way I see it is… if there’s one thing in this life that you don’t want to get wrong… it is where you will be spending eternity.
Think about it.
Anyway, first off, forget what your friends think. They sound like a bunch of narrow-minded pinheads. Second, go to the “Accept Christ” section of this website and start reading. Think about what you read there. Let it really sink in.
After giving it some serious consideration, weigh the pros and the cons of the decision you’re being asked to make.
Should I Invite Jesus Christ Into My Life To Be My Lord & Savior?
Let’s see now.
Accepting Christ = Eternal Life.
Rejecting Christ = Separation From God For All Eternity.
Tony… I don’t know about you dude… but it seems to me that Christ is the logical choice.
No matter how you look at it, the pros far outweigh the cons.
As for your friends telling you that God doesn’t exist and/or that the Bible is a bunch of fairy tales. Do a little bit of research yourself. Start reading the Bible every day. Research the subject of “bible prophecy”. You’ll be amazed at how that “stupid book of fairy tales” was somehow able to foretell the future. (Over 300 bible prophecies have already come true… and there are dozens more that are on the verge of coming true.)
Amazing stuff.
Tony, seek and ye shall find… knock, and the door will be opened.
Sincerely yours,
